Kuwaiti official expects investments in Jordan to increase gradually
Kuwaiti investments in Jordan will increase gradually in the coming stage, according to Nemer Fahed Malik Al Sabah, Kuwait’s undersecretary for foreign trade affairs at the Ministry of Trade and Industry. He indicated on Sunday that the investments will be directed to "promising" sectors to serve the interests of the two countries. The official is currently taking part in the first session of the committee for encouraging Jordanian-Kuwaiti investments, which started yesterday. Sabah highlighted that participants are discussing means to benefit from Jordan's experience in investments promotion and the establishment of development, industrial and economic zones. The trade volume between the Kingdom and Kuwait went up from $44 million in 2000 to around $276 million in 2011, according to Executive Director of the Jordan Investment Board Awni Shdifat.
