Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) organized an online workshop where it presented and discussed findings of updated study on Supply Chain Logistics Through Aqaba Ports.

The CEO of the Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), Mr. Bashar Abu Rumman, said at the opening of the workshop that this study is part of ADC’s continued efforts to boost the Zones competitive positing as a transport and logistic hub. He added, as one of ADC’s main mandates is developing the transport and logistics network in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone, and implementing a set of strategic projects in the ports and logistics sector, this study offers an insight into the efficiency and challenges of the logistical operations across the supply chain. Mr. Abu Rumman highlighted, the importance of taking the geo-political situation in account particularly when it comes to Aqaba’s role as Gateway to Iraq.

Conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), workshop participants included members of the Trade & Transport Technical Committee as well representatives from the private sector.

Launched by ADC, study was carried out by a consortium including Gargour Shipping Line, Interdisciplinary Research Consultants (id:rc) and Engicon, and offers a thorough insight into logistics supply chain through aqaba ports.
