Industries located within the ASEZ benefit from Jordan’s preferential access, for products of Jordanian origin, to members of the World Trade Organization and Arab countries. Products manufactured in Jordan enjoy quota-free access to the U.S. market through the Free Trade Agreement and to the European Union through the Euro-Jordanian Association Agreement.
Land is available in different locations to serve the industrial sector in different location offering interested investors a variety of options. More importantly, the Zone is home to a number of world class industrial estates namely Aqaba International Industrial Estate (AIIE) and National Real Estate Company both representing successful public private partnership models.
AIIE is located adjacent to Aqaba Airport and 15 km from the Sea Port offers a world-class base ready with infrastructure and services to house metal engineering, construction material- renewable energy and energy efficiency systems, food processing, Plastic products- logistics, and services projects.
NREC offers, fully serviced with infrastructures and customs utilities and utility management services, located 12-kilo meter southeast of Aqaba city center and 6-kilo meter from Aqaba Containers Port. It offers, pen Lands for industrial, industrial and commercial uses, open storage yards, built up hangers for closed storage & industries as well as office Spaces.
The South Zone is located at the southern end of the ASEZ adjacent to the border with Saudi Arabia and encompasses the major Ports. It is one of the five main development zones comprising ASEZA’s master plan for the development of the ASEZ. Land is available for investment in industry in SIZ benefiting from available infrastructure and utilities and maximizing on its proximity to ports and the several logistics services centers located across the Zone.
Following the success that Aqaba has witnessed, additional development zones were added to the special economic zone with a total area of 18 sq. km in the Al-Quweira Region whereby they enjoy the same legal framework and investment incentives that Aqaba offers. The 18 sq km area is divided into 6 investment zones 3 of which are industrial zones, 2 logistics and 1 for eco-tourism.
Al Quweira’s three industrial zones offer large plots of land available for investment industry and logistics services and is connected to international road network linking the region with neighboring countries. Raw materials such as silica, kaolin, granite is available at Quweira as well as skilled and qualified manpower from the region.
