King Hussein International Airport

King Hussein International Airport

Launched in the year 2001, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone’s vision was set by His Majesty King Abdullah II. It is to transform Aqaba, a small port town back then, into a world-class business hub and leisure. The Zone aspires to reclaim its historical role as a trade center and strengthen its position as a transport and logistics hub serving Jordan, the Region and as a gateway to Iraq.

Jordan’s unwavering commitment and belief in a better future, a peaceful and prosperous one are evident in the Kingdome’s nonstop efforts to build for the future. Not only Jordan’s future but the region’s as a whole.

Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) was mandated to develop the Zone’s infrastructure and services in a manner that ensures its competitiveness regionally. As ADC has implemented and continues to execute its ambitious strategy, ASEZ today offers world class multi modal transport and logistics network, competitive investment legislative framework and true public private partnership.

The key catalyst to the Zone’s multi-modal transport and logistics capabilities is King Hussein International Airport which operates under “open skies airport policy” and includes a 1st class Air Cargo Terminal. The Airport, owned by ADC, and managed by Aqaba Airports Company, witnessed major rehabilitation, expansion and renovation.

Plans are on the way to launch the Royal Aircrafts Museum at the Airport adding a new attraction to Aqaba.
