Jordan’s Graduation Ceremony of The Yep Med First Batch Of Transport And Logistics Training Program

On Monday, July 12, 2021, the Aqaba Development Company (ADC) graduated the first batch of the training course for the YEP MED project. The certificates for the International Trade and Operations (VT2-VT3) training courses were delivered during an event conducted by ADC with the participation of project lead member from Escola Europea where a total of 12 trainees who attended and successfully passed the training course requirements received their Diploma and certificate of attendance.
Eng. Mohammed Al-Sakran, Executive Director of Transport and Logistics at ADC and Project Manager for YEP MED in Jordan, thanked all the attendees, including the graduates and team members in charge of the project, emphasizing on the importance of the project for youth and women in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone and capitalizing on the significance of enriching their knowledge in the transport and logistics sector in general and logistics in particular.

Mr. Edward Rhodes, Executive Director of Escola Europea - Intermodal Transport, also extended thanks to all the attendees and the project’s team, congratulating all the trainees who passed the course and obtained their certificates. He also stressed on the importance of this course, which was held in several stages VT1, VT2, and VT3 under exceptional circumstances due to the corona virus pandemic, where all three training courses were conducted virtually using Teams and ZOOM applications.
The course also included field visits to Aqaba New Port, Aqaba Container Terminal, ASEZ Customs Yard and Aqaba Logistics Village, as part of the training program
The ADC has previously signed a cooperation agreement with "Escola Europea", to train the youth of the Mediterranean basin in ports and logistics sector where ADC represents Jordan along with other countries, namely Spain, Italy, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and France.
The project is funded by the European Union’s ENI CBC MED European Union program; aiming to develop methods of vocational training in the ports and logistics sector (TVET) to meet and match the labor market skills needs in the Mediterranean port communities sector, contributing to jobs creation for the employment of youth and women in this sector as well as facilitating productive economic growth.
