Aqaba, Jordan — October 6th, 2026 — Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) in partnership with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) organized and hosted a visit by a U.S. Chamber of Commerce business delegation to showcase investment opportunities in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone across manufacturing, logistics, digital technologies, and tourism. The American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (AmCham-Jordan) coordinated the visit, bringing U.S businesses together with Aqaba’s decision makers and private sector to explore investment opportunities and commercial partnerships.

The visit formed part of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s trade mission to Jordan, which included more than 60 U.S. business delegates representing over 30 companies. Participating companies represented a broad range of sectors, including energy, digital technologies, artificial intelligence and ICT, water, infrastructure, transportation and logistics, healthcare, agribusiness, and financial services.

Through site visits, meetings, and an investor roundtable session hosted by ADC, the delegation explored Aqaba’s investment environment and its role as a gateway to regional markets. Discussions focused on how U.S. companies could benefit from Aqaba’s strategic location, transport connections, and industrial and digital infrastructure, while identifying opportunities to work with local partners.

The program included visits to Classic Garments Factory, the ANVT vocational training facility, and Aqaba Digital Hub, as well as a tour of Aqaba’s port community. These visits provided firsthand insight into manufacturing operations, workforce development, digital infrastructure, and maritime logistics. Meetings with officials and investors offered further opportunities to discuss business needs and potential partnerships.

H.E. Shadi Al-Majali, Chief Commissioner of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), welcomed the U.S. Chamber of Commerce business delegation to Aqaba, highlighting the Zone’s enabling business environment and its potential to serve as a competitive platform for U.S. investment and regional expansion.

“Aqaba’s strategic location and connectivity, combined with Jordan’s network of free trade agreements, provide investors with access to international and regional markets. In particular, the Jordan–United States Free Trade Agreement offers U.S. and international investors an important platform for accessing the U.S. market while benefiting from Aqaba’s strategic position and investment environment.

“ASEZA provides investors with an integrated and business-friendly environment, supported by strategic connectivity, modern infrastructure, and a streamlined one-stop-shop approach to investment and business services. A key strength of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone is its governance model, which provides ASEZA with the autonomy and decision-making flexibility needed to respond efficiently to investors’ needs and facilitate business development.

“Our role goes beyond facilitating the establishment of an investment. We remain engaged with investors throughout their journey through dedicated aftercare and investor-support programs, helping address challenges, facilitate expansion, and strengthen the long-term sustainability of their operations in Aqaba ,” Majali said.

H.E. Hussein Al-Safadi, Chief Executive Officer of Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), welcomed the U.S. Chamber of Commerce business delegation to Aqaba, emphasizing the importance of direct engagement with the U.S. business community in strengthening investment ties and creating new opportunities for long-term partnerships.

“Aqaba offers a diverse and growing portfolio of investment opportunities across key economic sectors, supported by strategic infrastructure, an integrated business ecosystem, and a strong commitment to facilitating private-sector investment. At ADC, we work closely with investors from the initial exploration of opportunities through to project development, providing the support, facilitation, and coordination needed to help translate investment interest into viable and sustainable projects. The Investor Roundtable provides an important platform for direct dialogue with U.S. business leaders, and we look forward to building on these discussions to develop meaningful partnerships, attract quality investments, and further strengthen Aqaba’s position as a competitive regional destination for business and investment,” Safadi said.

Samer S. Judeh, Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (AmCham-Jordan), noted

“The U.S. Chamber of Commerce delegation’s visit to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone was an important part of the mission’s program in Jordan, providing the U.S. business delegation with the opportunity to see first-hand the competitive advantages Aqaba has to offer. Through our engagement with the leadership of Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), the delegation gained valuable insight into Aqaba’s port community, multimodal transportation network, competitive investment environment, and strategic access to regional markets. These advantages are central to Jordan’s positioning as a regional hub and gateway to the region. AmCham-Jordan’s role is to help connect U.S. companies with these opportunities and support their translation into concrete trade, investment, and business partnerships.”
